Lexus Project Cars
Shot these last year before SEMA. Didn't have any budget for locations and the cars could not be driven but I feel I did the best with what I had. That's what I always emphasize as a photographer. You shoot with what you have, whether it's your experience, the circumstance, or the equipment. Do your best and you will have nothing to worry about.

One of the last Sport Compact Car Issues
And I was fortunate enough to shoot it. An oldie but one of my favorites.

Dodge Journey Ad Campaign

Here are the final images for the Dodge Journey Ad Campaign I shot back in April. This campaign will only be used internationally. Which means for those in North America(me) it will be tough to find a magazine or billboard displaying these ads. So for all you lucky people not residing here in North America, let me know if you see these anywhere. I will definitely owe you one.

JGTC Series
So I was looking in my archive and came across some motorsport work from the JGTC event in 04. I really liked how the pit area images came out so I decided to put together a series. All handheld at super iso, hence the grain. For some reason though high grain and black & white, always seem to work well together. Click image or link below.

    Lowered Prices on Automotive Prints
I decided to lower the prices for the time being on my automotive prints. They are available through my portfolio site.

If you go to the automotive section of the site at www.SteveDemmitt.com
Click the image you would like a print for and then in the lower left hand corner, there will be a "Buy Print" button. Click the button and it will open a new window where you can set the size of your print, the quantity and so on. When you are done click add to cart and continue to the checkout. The print service I offer uses a
a standard ssl software to secure and encrypt your personal information.

    Acura RDX

Bought a new car finally, well actually an suv like car. I needed the extra room for the photo gear so I opted for a slightly larger car. During my road trip up north, I decided to try and get a nice portfolio image. You can't tell but the car was pretty dirty. Luckily for me the flash's overpowered the dirt. =P This is somewhere near Hearst Castle along the 1 Highway.

    Lamborghini Murcielago Studio Before/After

Hardly a proper before/after shot. It took around 6 or 7 different exposures to create this image. However it does give you an idea of what it takes to build an automotive studio shot. It can be a bit tricky at times, and dam near frustrating however the process can be very rewarding when its all said and done.

    Norcal Coastal Trip

I thought I would put up a series of photography shots from my most recent trip up along the Califonia coast. I just love these type of scenic drives. It makes for some awesome landscape photography. The processing is a bit different from the last image but the warmer tone feels more at peace. Click image or link below. Enjoy the set!

    Big Sur

Took a trip out to Big Sur in Northern California. What a beautiful area. Surprisingly alot of people who have lived in California for years don't even know this place exists. The weather was a bit nippy but the view totally made up for it.  The image below is a shot I took overlooking the Bixby Bridge.

Sport Compact Car - S2000 Cover Shot

Here is a before/after of a recent cover shot I did for Sport Compact Car magazine. There is actually one more image which I used for the reflections on the side of the car but I opted not to include it in the before shot. The issue should be released this month so check it out if you get a chance.

    Lexus IS F

I recently collaborated with Tunerzine.com and Lexus for a photoshoot of the new IS F. I'm not much into writing reviews, but I will say that this car is an amazing machine. It does tend to lean more toward luxury than overall performance but the 5 liter V8 it packs is no joke. Anyway there are more images to come but enjoy this one for the time being.

Digital Photographer Magazine - Issue #64

I was fortunate enough to be picked for an interview in Digital Photographer magazine. It is located in the U.K. but you can actually pick it up anywhere at your local bookstore. The issue is #64. They don't go by months just issue #'s. Anyway check it out if you get a chance. I am pretty proud of it.

    Siphon Cover #5

I thought this was kinda funny. Here is the final and then the before/after cover shots for the new issue of Siphon magazine. You can see that they modified the processed version to fit the layout for the actual cover. This issue should be out on newstands fairly soon.

    Bentley Continental GT

Added a new piece to the portfolio. The car was studio lit and the background was put together from multiple images. You can actually get a real life shot similar to the image I put together, but the problem you will face are the trees and signs that block the building. I was going to attempt to clone away the trees, but I think this works just as effectively. It's actually a bit better this way because I have control over how large the building is in relation to the car.

Print is also available on the main site.

    S.W.A.T. Series - 3rd Place - IPA Awards *updated

Recently I was given an award for my S.W.A.T. series.

3rd Place - Digitally Enhanced Category
    International Photography Awards 2007
    S.W.A.T. Series

You can view the entry here. That project was part of a joint collaboration between another fellow photographer Blair Bunting and I. I won't get into specifics, but this joint venture has since ended.

Now as chance would have it, I was recently contacted by a different S.W.A.T. team and hired to shoot a group photo of their team. I decided to make the best of the situation and get the exact poses I needed to update the old images so I could fully call them my own. I still need to update the rain shot and I plan on adding a third original image to the series, but I decided to show the first one off for the time being. As for the group photo, I should have that done in a few days so check back next week.

To be honest I like the newer version alot more than the old one. The outfit he has on seems alot more S.W.A.T. to me. The other one seemed more military.
